Overview
My role is working as a summer risk analyst at market risk team. My Internship lasts 9 weeks, with one week of training, and work on the desk from week 2. And over the two month, I enjoyed working with the team and I completed two projects and present to the whole team. The main work involved is stress testing some risk factors to derive the PnL for each month-end and discuss the causes.
Skills
Yes, I have learned a lot during the two month internship. My presentation skills get improved a lot, I learned how to attract my audience and how to bring everyone's attention back to my contents. I learned how to present confidently in front of colleagues from other teams and remained a comfortable speed on delivering my contents. To be honest, everything is all good.
Responsibilities
I have been given couple of works or projects to do, so I do take a lot of responsibility and exposures to various aspect of work. I feel when you are taking the responsibility, It acts as a drive to prompt you to complete the work to the fullest and live up to some people's expectations.
Support & Guidance
I have received bunch of support and guidance during my internship from my managers, my buddy, and some seniors in my team. I would like to appreciate all of my team members and I really enjoyed to be part of them and I am grateful to meet them and get along with them.
Culture
Overall I love my team's culture and I enjoy myself pretty much. Not only when working with my team members but also when dealing with HR or colleagues from other teams, they are all nice and friendly. I feel like I am really part of the team and they are helpful whenever I encounter any problems that may hinge my processes.
Your Impressions
I extremely enjoy my internship from various aspects. First of all, my team is very diverse and I really embrace the culture and the value. Secondly, my colleagues are approachable and nice to reach, make me feel really comfortable. Lastly, I love what I am working on, I feel I can really learn a lot through the 9 weeks internship.
Yes
Be confident in yourself. Sometimes candidates are already competent enough for the positions they apply for, they may still fail in in the middle of the interview process, making them susceptible in their competence. However, they may never think about the issue maybe due to their under confidence in themselves. That's my takeaway.
