Overview
Helping the team out with a multitude of tasks to do with entering companies into administrations and liquidations, performing tasks during the process - paying out creditors, complete VAT forms, dealing with debtors - and winding up companies, as well as completing case reviews and progress reports. On a day-to-day basis, I had to complete different tasks, ranging from taking 30 minutes to 3 hours, and for a variety of different people in the team.
Skills
Communication skills, and excel skills. Developed my team skills through being part of a 6-strong intern group who presented on one of the last days of the internship. Now that the internship is coming to a close, we are very close, and the project was a great way to foster these friendships.
Responsibilities
Apart from completing case reviews and annual progress reports, I was mostly completing tender documents for other members of the team, so there was not much responsibility there. However, when my buddy went on holiday, I was put on her out-of-office email, so all her emails on one case came to me - I suppose that's the most responsibility I was given.
Support & Guidance
Weekly meetings with my line manager, which were very useful in knowing where I was in the intern process and what I needed to do better. Was in constant communication with my buddy, who was brilliant at answering all questions I had - even if they were silly!
Culture
Very relaxed - I found it very easy to fit in to the environment, and the team is social
Your Impressions
Very much enjoyed it, although we could have been given more work
Yes
I would say to enjoy the recruitment process, as it is unlike any other I have done - the written task etc. I would also say get to know your team, because they are the ones you will be asking questions to, so fostering a good relationship with them is crucial.
