Overview
As an intern in the audit department we are booked onto jobs for clients as part of the audit team for them. You help complete various different parts of the audit depending on what step you are on. The juniors and seniors give you help and guidance through this. There are also various intern projects you have the potential to complete which help you become more familiar with the company.
Skills
Yes, excel and Microsoft soft skills. Trained and learned how to use various third party software which are used to complete the audit. Presentation and research skills. Time management and particularly prioritization skills. How to speak to clients professionally.
Responsibilities
Yes. As Evelyn's audit department isn't as large as one of the big 4's you get to be a bigger part of the company and are given more responsibility which is extremely valuable experience.
Support & Guidance
Lots. Was assigned a buddy and line manager both of which were available to answer questions. The seniors on the job I was booked on were also very helpful. The training at the start of the internship was also appreciated.
Culture
Lovely. Very welcoming and everyone was really supportive and personable.
Your Impressions
Enjoyed it very much. The experience of working in an office for the first time was very useful and everyone was so helpful and patient which made it really useful and enjoyable.
Yes
Try to be relaxed in the interview and maybe practise some online assessment centres.
