Overview
I am an Audit intern and my work involved a diverse set of tasks. Whether it was more audit focused or administrative (which was not often), the work was stimulating and involved a large amount of collaboration, which therefore made it more enjoyable.
Skills
I have developed and enhanced many. Firstly, I largely improved my communication skills. I now believe I am able to state my case and viewpoints far more concisely and thus would be far more prepared when in a client facing position. Moreover, my attention to detail also greatly improved, as each work required meticulous attention and was required to be of a high standard.
Responsibilities
It involved varying degrees of responsibility; at some points I undertook administrative work which was of less importance, however the majority of the time I was taught skills and shown tutorials from the ground up to participate in more focused Audit work.
Support & Guidance
I received plenty. Whether it be my line manager or my team, people frequently updated me regarding the progress of projects or whether any work was required of me. I enjoyed this as it meant I always had work to undertake and learned lots everyday. Moreover, the team emphasized the importance of asking questions from day 1, so I always felt comfortable to ask for feedback/guidance.
Culture
The company culture is fairly relaxed and people oriented. People frequently leave the office between 5-6pm and due to the emphasis on employee wellbeing, I believe people feel very appreciated and thus are of a very high morale. Everybody I have met has been extremely outgoing, friendly and kind and thus I was made to feel at home very quickly.
Your Impressions
I thoroughly enjoyed my internship. From the people to the tasks, everything went seamlessly and I was put into a position to maximize my understanding of the work and department. I am very pleased to have began my career at such an inclusive and welcoming firm.
Yes
I would suggest to get very excited as it is a firm that they will thoroughly enjoy their time at. I believe they should remain very relaxed and know that little-no prior knowledge is required, and people at all levels will be excited to aid them.
