Overview
As an intern I had the opportunity to rotate across two teams in the Financing Solutions programme. In my first rotation, my day mainly consisted of me asking for opportunities to get involved and help the team out so I did a lot of Excel work, making PowerPoints and presenting them, and research tasks. In my second rotation I did similar work but I also had a desk project. I typically had some networking chats throughout the day as well.
Skills
I learnt a lot of technical skills about finance and banking. I also developed my presentation skills and critical reading skills. I also had a lot of opportunities to network and learn from lots of different people.
Responsibilities
I had quite a lot of responsibility during my internship but I was also given a lot of help so the responsibility wasn't pressurising.
Support & Guidance
I received a lot of support from my managers and the wider team who were always happy to help when I had any questions.
Culture
The culture was really friendly and everyone was very approachable no matter what their role was. A lot of teams work quite late but still have a very positive outlook and are always happy to help.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed the internship a lot because I was able to learn a lot of new things, meet a lot of new people, and just gain a lot of valuable experience.
Yes
I would say to come in with an open mind and say yes to all opportunities because its completely fine to make mistakes.
