The Role
Can't imagine a placement being any better, got to do things I could never imagine being allowed to do as a placement student.
I felt like I was a graduate engineer. Was given the same if not more responsibilities than other engineers.
Had monthly 1 -1 meetings where I was given advice and could ask for guidence. I asked to gain experience in other teams to build up my skills and experience and was allowed to work in another team for a few weeks.
Always had a good balance of work, the work environment was very relaxed so even when I a lot of work was on me, I never felt pressurised and could perform better.
At times I was training graduate engineers. I was put in charge of field test data analysis for our team which was vital to our trend analysis. I was always given opportunities to do the same level of work as senior engineers.
Every bit of experience I gained was extremely valuable and will directly contribute to the skills I need to work in the automotive industry.
The Company
Very comfortable and enjoyable, had lots of laughs.
Not a lot of structure but I was given all training and responsibilities in good timing.
Got everything I needed, allowed to work in different teams, could order any equipment needed. Was almost sent abroad for winter testing but trip was cancelled at last minute due to high temperatures.

The Culture
A lot of things going on just depended on how involved you wanted to be.
Cheap as due to being in the North.
Small town so not much. Bigger towns and Cities nearby.
Plenty of volunteering activities available which included travel and expenses. I did young enterprise.
