Overview
My role entails carrying out and following up on any task that my team might have given me, attending different meetings for projects and networking, spending time shadowing people from different departments within the Bank.
Skills
I've developed my networking skills, team working and collaboration skills. I've also learnt more about MS Excel, Cloud technologies and Machine Learning.
Responsibilities
I was given responsibilities that could be done within my job role and was occupied with placement work consistently throughout my internship.
Support & Guidance
I was always able to reach out to my manager and the team whenever I needed anything. There were also regular check-in calls with my manager to ensure I had all the help and resources that I needed.
Culture
The company culture is excellent. Everyone is happy to spend time with you, give you insights into their work and answer any questions that you have. It was wonderful to shadow different people and have meetings to see how each persons job was different yet their work is interlinked with so many other teams I've worked with.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed my internship thoroughly. I got the experience of working at a big organisation and network with several people from across the bank. I had the opportunity to also learn about different topics like data analytics and machine learning using the various resources that NatWest has to offer. I had the chance to work on placement tasks that gave me insights into my teams day-to-day work and I also worked on a group project that helped me work with a team and develop new ideas with them.
