Overview
The role involves working closely with all parts of the bank to understand customer and business needs, helping them deliver cutting-edge solutions at speed. On a day-to-day basis, it involves being part of daily standups - communicating progress, requirements, etc. Rest of the day involves working on the main projects throughout the placement, and having meetings/group discussions with the relevant teams. A lot of team-work, collaboration, ownership, openness and honesty involved daily.
Skills
Learnt a lot of new skills while developing on existing skills. Definitely depends on the projects you take initiative on and whether you would want to build on something existing or learn new skills.
Responsibilities
Yes, a lot of opportunities were given to lead on various parts of the project. It is all about taking the initiative, making sure to take full ownership and accountability while delivering the results.
Support & Guidance
A lot of support and guidance was provided, weekly by the early careers teams, and daily from the internal teams/colleagues.
Culture
The company culture involved openness, honesty, innovative thinking, and a sense of collaboration everywhere.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed it thoroughly, had the chance to work on various projects - meaningful projects. Developed a lot of skills and built a great network of experienced/knowledgeable individuals.
