Overview
My role consisted mainly of archiving old pamphlets published by the foundation, however this was usually balanced by other tasks such as researching, editing and proof reading throughout the day. I was given the freedom to move onto different tasks if I needed to take a break from archiving, and to learn more about the work of the foundation and the topics that they focused on.
Skills
I’ve learned many skills useful in the publishing industry, as well as how a small organisation runs and how to research complex issues in todays world.
Responsibilities
I was given the responsibility of making sure these old documents were preserved faithfully and made available for those to access today.
Support & Guidance
I was given great support in this role, from how to do specific tasks and also about the broader issues and aims of the foundation.
Culture
It was incredibly friendly, relaxed and personable, and I looked forward to going into work in the morning.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed it and I feel really lucky I got to have these experiences and learn so much about this area.
Yes
While anyone would enjoy working for this organ, I would say that to get the most out of this opportunity a passion for political theory and philosophy is very important.
