    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Morning tasks including producing P&L reports for different trading desks and posting adjustments if necessary. Once approved by the trader these are sent out to the rest of the department. Afternoons include working on my set projects e.g. automating reports, creating a daily breakdown of one of the businesses and networking with other colleagues. They also include sending out daily and weekly market moves commentary, and working on presentations.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • This role enhanced my time management and organisation skills as I was often set various tasks within set deadlines. It also improvement my Excel skills as this platform was used a lot during this internship. Conducting daily P&L reports strengthened my analytical and problem solving skills as I had to prove out any unexpected values. I also learnt how to network - a skill I did not previously use.
