    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Completing deliverables from different points of the audit lifecycle; including planning, testing, and reporting. Engaging with stakeholders across the business and working with the team to complete audits. Interacting with members of the team during daily scrums, huddles, and other meetings to complete sprints (project management technique).

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • Developed my competency with MS Office and teams (including WFH). Built on my communication and collaboration skills within a corporate environment, including my presentation skills. Over the internship I have also learnt new skills within the audit sphere including audit techniques and agile. The opportunity also developed my organisational skills and methods to manage heavy workloads.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • Yes. Over my 3 rotations I was given deliverables which had to be completed with little oversight, of which remained crucial to the overall audit delivery. I had a lot of responsibility throughout and this involved a specturm of tasks including fieldwork and testing. As apart of my internship I was also heavily involved in discussions with stakeholders and often had to personally create the queries which would then be flagged in subsequent meetings.

  • Please rate how meaningful the work you were doing was

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • Received substantial support from my colleagues and line manager. As apart of the programme you also get paired with a junior member of staff (a buddy), which I personally found was the best contact to leverage over the course of my internship. Any issues I had with work I could easily escalate and most colleagues were happy to help, often going beyond initial requirements.
