Overview
I had a few projects within my team that I worked on in parallel. For each project I worked in a different team and they varied from Power BI reports, mapping out processes and managing people. I also completed an online course to develop my skills in python and attended talks to develop my understanding of the business.
Skills
I developed my skills in Python and learnt how to use Power BI and Power Apps.
Responsibilities
I was given a good amount in one of my projects as I represented my team in meetings and managed people to get the project going. Other projects I had less responsibility and just completed the objectives set.
Support & Guidance
I was given guidance on learning the new skills I needed to learn to be able to complete the projects. I was also given a buddy who answered any questions I had throughout the internship, everyone was happy to help when needed.
Culture
Everyone was really friendly and happy to help whenever I needed it. Also when cold emailed people to ask to have a chat about their work they were always happy to help. Everyone I interacted with was more than happy to give advice and answer any questions you have about the business.
Your Impressions
I have enjoyed the internship as it has been great to learn more about the business and learn some new skills. There were some weeks I had to fill my time as it can be quite slow for licenses to come through to be able to do the work on the projects. It was good to see applications to what I learnt at university, although I personally did not apply anything myself.
Yes
Be yourself in the interview and find something you are passionate about to highlight why you want to work for them.
