Overview
I work on recording the data held by the organisations. I interact with colleagues in Citi's offices globally. I have been working on recording data held for the purpose of particular financial reporting.
Skills
I know much more about JSON, and have learnt about Spring Boot (which was new to me), as well as Java and frontend HTML/CSS/JS. I learnt to use AI in order to improve my productivity and efficiency. Outside of technology, I know much more about risk management in the context of a bank which has been very interesting.
Responsibilities
I think I was given lots of responsibility and opportunities to manage my workload. As part of my training I was able to work with other interns in a team to deliver a project at a pace directed by us. As I was working on a solo project in my other work, I had responsibility to deliver.
Support & Guidance
I had a lot of support and guidance from a range of sources. I had daily interaction with colleagues who had expertise in different areas within the same area, meaning I was able to understand the work and the wider bank more. I was also given opportunities to present and develop my skills.
Culture
I like it. There's a good work-life balance and I found colleagues to be friendly.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed it. I learnt a lot, had a wide range of experiences and gained a much greater understanding of finance. I like my colleagues, and found the work interesting.
Yes
Try to read up about the bank (skim read recent news articles and anything regulators may have said). Make sure you can answer standard interview questions. Make sure you've revised algorithm/OOP-style questions.
