Overview
Worked as an intern in the Tyl team. Daily routine consisted of joining team calls, working on admin tasks, and working on a bigger project (drafting an operating manual).
Skills
I have developed my communication and teamwork skills, learnt how to better manage my time and organize myself, as well as learning how to sort through information more efficiently.
Responsibilities
Overall, I did not have a huge amount of responsibility as I was not given many tasks that the team was counting on me for on a regular basis. My greatest responsibility was to make progress on a large team project, which I worked on throughout the duration of my internship.
Support & Guidance
A lot. My manager was very helpful and my team was very warm and open to helping me, as well as providing me with learning opportunities. It also really helped to have a grad buddy, as this was someone I could easily consult as well. Early Careers were also really useful, especially at the start of my internship, when I was having tech issues.
Culture
Very encouraging. There are so many opportunities to develop and grow both professionally and personally. You can tell that permanent employees enjoy working at the bank and that in return, the bank cares about its employees.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed it. It was a great learning experience and I felt fully supported throughout. The company culture is very welcoming and inclusive. It was also really nice to be able to make friends with the other interns/grads.
Yes
To prepare adequately for the assessment centres, as well as the various steps before, since it is quite a long progress and many skills are evaluated.
