The Role
Very enjoyable
Established great professional connections and made friends easily
Outstanding guidance throughout
Peaks and troughs like most jobs, but a good balance
Lead some development projects and given good reign over work
The core benefit of doing my degree was around the placement year -- I'd strongly recommend it to everyone
The Company
Sometimes a little sparse where some people worked from home on certain days, but when people were around it was good fun. Lots of placement students nearby too.
Well structured and managed
Highly encouraged training and skills development, with a wide range of materials and courses available
Flexi Time
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Working from home
My manager suggested I treat the placement year like a year-long interview, which I did. I then used the experience to secure a graduate role.
The Culture
There were around 40 of us in my year, many of whom I'm still great friends with.
Based in Winchester. Not especially cheap, but not London prices.
Winchester was good on select nights, but Southampton was also quite nearby for more options.
More clubs and societies than you could shake a stick at!
