Overview
Working 9-5 with time split in varying amounts between intern business project (working together with other interns to solve a business problem), self-led learning (both technical skills and methods of working), and placement work (i.e. shadowing, joining team calls, receiving talks and completing tasks for your manager). There is also regularly spotlight talks, social activities, volunteering and a chance to network yourself.
Skills
I have learnt lots of new technical skills, for example involving data science and coding languages. I have also developed my professional work skills, i.e. agile methodology, teamwork, presentation skills and networking abilities.
Responsibilities
I was given many tasks to do independently for my placement work, but all were checked over before being published widely. Also, had the responsibility of managing my time myself and being sensible with breaks and getting work done.
Support & Guidance
Had constant access to both managers, as well as wider business area team and other interns always being around and willing to help.
Culture
Generally very friendly and welcoming, you could tell everyone was very willing to talk to you and help out when possible.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed it, I found my work interesting and the social side very fun.
