Overview
Rotating across different desks, learning about different aspects of Nomura’s global markets’ business. Shadowing employees, completing daily tasks, networking, completing rotation projects.
Skills
Massively improved communication and networking skills. Improved my ability to work under pressure. Improved my presentation skills.
Responsibilities
I think I was given a good balance of enough responsibility to feel like I was making an impact on the desk and that I was being pushed, but not too much responsibility to the point that it was overwhelming
Support & Guidance
Received lots of support and guidance from both juniors and seniors on the teams. Having a mentor was immensely useful, as well as allocated buddy’s on the desk.
Culture
Very friendly and approachable culture and atmosphere. People always offered their help, even if they were very busy.
Your Impressions
Very much enjoyed the placement. An amazing way to learn more about Nomura, its global markets business, and the finance industry in general.
