Overview
- interesting tasks. the daily tasks on my sales desk were very interesting, and involved keeping up to date with the market. yes they were beginner level but you have to expect that. - shadowing. lots of shadowing where you learn a lot.
Skills
yes. technical skills behavioural skills etc
Responsibilities
as much as we can be - yes. given you have to be properly licensed to trade, there are going to be limits as to what you can do. however, the tasks are very interesting.
Support & Guidance
lots. hr are great mentors are great people on the desk are helpful but you have to guide the conversations. no one will just help you. if you dont reach out, people aren't going to help you, they have things to do. but if you guide the conversations and know what you want to learn, you will be successful.
Culture
nomura company atmosphere is great. hr are great, managers are great, grads are great, everyone will help you.
Your Impressions
i very much enjoyed my internship.
Yes
be honest with your ability level. dont blag it or be cocky because the people who work here are the best in the industry and will catch you out. if you get caught out, you will have an extremely hard time changing peoples opinions of you.
