Overview
The role includes working alongside the Onboard team and helping with ongoing projects as well as working with fellow interns on a business project to present to stakeholders. Day-to-day the role required me to have regular meetings with different stakeholders and work with data to drive different projects forward.
Skills
I have developed my communication, teamwork, and presentation skills as well as refining my research skills. In addition I have learnt skills in digital and data literacy as well as agile ways of working, experimentation and problem solving.
Responsibilities
I was given a significant amount of responsibility during the internship, from being given key tasks within broader projects to taking the lead on my own projects and coordinating with senior stakeholders. Within the intern business project it was essential we took initiative and responsibility to conduct our own research and presentation effectively.
Support & Guidance
The programme had multiple ways of providing support, from regular check ins with my line manager and graduate buddy, as well as the ability to benefit from the expertise of my team. More broadly the early careers team were incredibly supportive and made the transition into the working environment seamless.
Culture
NatWest Group puts a huge amount of effort into creating a supportive culture, the organisation looks to challenge and push you but also provides support and guidance whenever needed. The company also encourages a forward thinking culture of experimentation and working in agile ways.
Your Impressions
Hugely enjoyed the internship both in terms of personal professional development and enjoyment of the experience. The large number of socials and and different opportunities to try new things meant the internship was highly enjoyable.
Yes
Go in with a open attitude and try as many of the great opportunities that the organisation has to offer as you can.
