Overview
I was based in the Energy Generation department with the asset improvement and integrity team. Day to day responsibility's include inspecting equipment, managing a range of maintenance projects, creating maintenance and inspection procedures and ensuring systems remain compliant with all relevant regulations.
Skills
I have learnt a lot about different regulations a large plant must adhere practically around PSSR and COSHH. I have also had a lot of exposure to different projects as well as the opportunity to oversee a few projects myself. I also received extensive training and courses from problem solving techniques to the different bearings we have on site.
Responsibilities
Yes, over the year my responsibility increased. At the start of the year my responsibility was fairly low but this quickly increased as my knowledge of the plant and the work increased. By the end of the year I had a number of tasks which were solely my responsibility.
Support & Guidance
From the start of the year I was assigned a mentor who gave me as much guidance and support as I needed.
Culture
On the whole the work place atmosphere and culture was very good.
