Overview
Working on a client project in a team of 6 interns led by a full-time employee. Day-to-day, this largely involves coding and reviewing code but design ideation sessions and client demos are also not uncommon.
Skills
Developed lots of technical skills: learning new programming languages and development patterns for mobile development. Soft skills too: working in a team of peers, client skills and following the structure of a mid-length project.
Responsibilities
Only responsibility over adding code to a codebase.
Support & Guidance
A lot. Regular and frequent meetings with my team lead with a strong focus on personal development, actionable feedback and general support.
Culture
Very friendly and fun-focused. It's clear lots of resources go into keeping morale high and ensuring everyone is supported.
Your Impressions
A lot! The work was very engaging; the team was great and there were lots of social events and activities to get involved with.
Yes
I'd recommend to approach is largely as an opportunity for personal development. It's a very safe space with a strong focus on feedback and the trainers are extremely well-equipped to help hone both technical and soft skills. Asking trainers for help and proactively acting on their feedback will make the 8-10 weeks much more worthwhile.
