Overview
The assisting in various auditing engagements throughout BDO for a period of time. The role consists of firstly learning about the auditing world and to use that newly acquired knowledge in the various jobs that each trainee undertakes during their placement.
Skills
I have developed many of my skills including collaboration, challenging management on certain topics and technical analysis
Responsibilities
It varies based on how long each team you are booked on for. Sometimes as a trainee you have little responsibility but if you are booked on an engagement for a few months, you will be given a greater portion of the work and responsibility.
Support & Guidance
I received guidance whenever it was requested and BDO seems never short of offering a helping hand to anyone who may need it.
Culture
It is overall a very friendly environment and I get the idea other people enjoy their surroundings when in office. BDO offers a great company culture, offering many external social events to further bond with colleagues and have a more enjoyable time.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed my placement here very much so, and if offered a graduate scheme would most likely take their offer, wishing to continue my career at BDO. I believe it is an enjoyable experience for most people
Yes
Be yourself, be friendly and know that if you approach BDO in a relaxed but prepared and well thought out manner, you are more likely to be seen as a good candidate and possibly progress further. BDO cares just as much about the person you are alongside the knowledge you have.
