    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • As an intern, I was helping prepare client documentation and ad hoc tasks like data inputting and operating insurance broking systems. Alongside the team tasks, I was doing research for my group project and producing a powerpoint for the end of the internship, which we would present to other interns and senior colleagues.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • The role gives a lot of independence and responsibility, allowing you to feel like a regular employee rather than an intern. I learnt how to be a better active listener (acknowledging client needs and providing solutions), tailor my conversations depending on person, and completing group project work alongside daily tasks. This allowed me to multi-task in a corporate environment.
