Overview
Working in the Requirements Team to determine what the Seeker shall do at a minimum level, setting boundaries in performance, quality etc. Liaising with other teams within Seekers to understand and gain an in-depth knowledge of the Seeker and the background for the functional requirements.
Skills
Yes, developed many skills such as working as part of a team, working towards deadlines, taking on-board feedback and acting on it, being able to work independently and working pro-actively to name a few. Worked in an environment where there is an 'open-door policy' with everyone and so any any questions or conversations are welcome.
Responsibilities
Yes as in I had soft deadlines that I tried to work a few days earlier to, also attending team meetings, whilst also being required to approach and reach out to anyone who could help the current work.
Support & Guidance
A lot of support, never felt lost or not sure on what to do. Line manager was always there for questions and the rest of the team were just a message away. A lot of impromptu conversations just about the work or general life.
Culture
Very open and relaxing. Dynamic hours in place at the company so as long as you complete your hours for the week and do the required work, there is no issue. Culture is to just approach someone for something through Skype or physically instead of emailing (at least in Seekers). Open plan office so regular group conversations and discussions on random things.
Your Impressions
Enjoyed thoroughly, learnt a lot, met a lot of great people. Not one day did I feel like not going in! Loved it!
Yes
Do your due diligence: work on your application, CV, interview skills and the technical questions Research a bit about the job before, for me as I was in Seekers, I watched a short video on what a Seeker is and that was enough (they don't expect you to know everything, they will teach you!) Take advantage of the assessment centre: an opportunity to show how you think, how you collaborate in a group and how you can bounce off others.
