Overview
Working in cloud support services, using generative AI services and building chatbot for internal business operations. Presenting work to stakeholders. Working with other interns on external projects.

Responsibilities
Definitely lots of freedom to explore areas of cloud engineering and different business units. Team happy to help with any technical skills. Less freedom in soft skills development as this was more structured. Lots of experts helping develop soft skills.
Support & Guidance
Team very happy to help and join hour + long calls to explain technical concepts. Lots of opportunities to join events to further development. Support from intern organisational team as well.
Culture
My team was very friendly and helpful. Had very flexible working hours and working from home policy. Rest of company is very true to Centrica's values and very supportive but might have less flexible working hours.
Your Impressions
Placement was definitely enjoyable and I learnt a lots. Lots of opportunities that I was not expecting for a software engineering internship. Its a very involved intership so if you aren't willing to make a huge commitment can be difficult.
Yes
Centrica values are very important as well as their sustainability and volunteering experience. Try to have some basic commercial awareness of the energy sector but in-depth knowledge isn't required. Don't feel to nervous in the interview stage - just be yourself! Remember to show your competency in working in teams.
