Overview
Shadowing my line manager in Facilities Management, including attending meetings, discussing issues and working on general tasks he gave me. Working on my own individual project, over the course of the eight weeks and producing a report.
Skills
Significantly developed skills relating to commercial awareness, communication, self-management, technical skills, and negotiating and influencing. Lots of exposure to other employees, understanding their roles and responsibilities across the business.
Responsibilities
Lots of personal freedom, including the opportunity to set the course and direction of my own project. Less responsibility in terms of being given tasks of significance to the business.
Support & Guidance
Lots of support and guidance including buddy, line manager, talent manger and the emerging talent team. Really good support.
Culture
Very positive and collaborative culture. Company values really elevated in importance and demonstrated in day-to-day business operations.
Your Impressions
I did enjoy it, was very rewarding and interesting. Days were typically not too boring, very nice culture at the company and lots of opportunity to learn new things.

Really try and define your role early on. Don't be afraid to ask for more work, or perceived stupid questions.
