The Role
Everyone has been very helpful and friendly. I was able to gain a lot of knowledge and understanding of my role and duties as I was encouraged to ask questions.
Within 2 months of beginning my placement, I was considered a trusted advisor and was contacted by colleagues from time to time for help on various issues.
Management team and supervisors has always been responsive in case of any queries or information request.
Although there were a lot of tasks, it was easy to find a balance.
In some cases I was given responsibility to coordinate European level tasks.
The tasks carried out are very much related to my degree and competencies like presentation skills and time management etc will definitely come in handy in my final year.
The Company
There was always a very friendly atmosphere along with numerous social activities from time to time.
The placement was quite well planned. It allowed me to develop skills step by step and help was available when required.
A lot of time was invested by my colleagues to train me in my role and education material was also provided to refer to. I was also given opportunity to shadow people in different roles and departments so that I could make an informed decision about my career.

I would love to come back to work with IBM if given the opportunity.
The Culture
Yes, there was always some kind of outing planned by and for the placement students. Colleagues also planned a day out, lunch or dinner from time to time.
Accommodation could have been provided by the company as there were no housing/rental perks.
It was always busy and fun.
Yes, and this also included voluntary work apart from general outings.
