Overview
Working in small groups within a large firm to deliver technology transformation to clients. More recently I have been working on building out an app to improve our firms ability to go to market in a particular space.
Skills
I have primarily improved my soft skills, namely my listening skills. This has allowed me to understand client and internal wants and address them effectively.
Responsibilities
It went through peaks and troughs particularly at the start where I was still learning. However towards the second half I gained far more responsibility and worked closely with senior stakeholders
Support & Guidance
I felt that I knew what was expected of me so for the most part didn't need additional guidance or support but I would always know where to go should I need it.
Culture
It was far nicer than I thought it would be. It is genuinely a collaborative space where most people want to see you progress.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed the second half a lot as I had a good network and had established trust within my team so had added responsibility. The first half less so as I was finding my feet but that is to be exected.
Yes
It is such a big company with so much going on that you will be able to find your group and projects that you want to be involved in. But be prepared to put yourself out there and take some risks in order to find them.
