Overview
My role was to support the leadership team in the national grid sector with up and coming bids and also assist the PMO team with newsletters and bot related stuff
Skills
I've improved on my communication, my understanding on spreadsheets has also improved, I've learnt to get out my comfort zone more, working under pressure and deadlines feel less intense, Projects have taught me how to work better under a team also and how important is to work together
Responsibilities
I would say yes, I've had wide range of responsibilities from delivering news to the pmo team for it to be updated, where I'd find news articles that were related to our sector these would over multiple industries and would be around three articles per company. I also was given the responsibility of making a chatbot from scratch, I had very little knowledge on how to make a chatbot and coding, but during the internship I've successfully built my own chatbot, from starting of with very little about building a bot to having built a fully operational chatbot
Support & Guidance
Yes, If I needed help with anything my mangers would of been more then happy to of break it down, and due to my dyslexia, so sometimes questions would be oddly phased etc and I'd ask for the some assistance for the question and they'd break it down
Culture
The culture and general atmosphere was great, there multiple different people from all ages and backgrounds, which made it easy to connect with people, everyone you meet and come across are friendly, I've never had a dispute or falling out with anyone and during meetings and projects there was always light-hearted jokes etc
Your Impressions
the years placement was great all time around, I always had at least something interesting to do, projects were great and I learnt a lot more about IBM and how processes work between clients and companies, theres always been fun opportunities too such as going on residential to an outdoors area to learn more about team work and get to know more about the team
Yes
To always think outside the box, don't go into something and looking at in a two dimensional way, try and change it a third or fourth way, be yourself no ones going to judge you, everyone you work with has a unique perspective on a lot of things and you'll most likely be no different either.
