Overview
I was placed in the cost management team, so my team would look at the budget we had and the projects we wanted to complete. My main responsibility was to perform a variance analysis on the forecasted costs vs the actual costs that we spent monthly. Along side this we produce monthly reports and also perform month end activities.
Skills
I have developed a lot of new skills such as: communication and interpersonal skills, time management, team work and collaboration, problem solving, analytical thinking, excel proficiency, financial analysis and compliance with regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
Yes, I started off with little tasks, after this I was trusted with a lot of tasks and also used as an cover for a full employee when they had left the company showing that I was trusted with these tasks.
Support & Guidance
I had good line managers and a buddy in my team who I was able to shadow and get help when needed. Alongside this we had the early careers team as well who gave us the initial induction/ training.
Culture
The company culture is great as everyone is very welcoming and supportive.
