Overview
My role as an intern is to work on projects that get assigned to me with the respective project teams. This is usually in either reserving, pricing or actuarial function. I also do some unique tasks that are specific to the client/project e.g. creating macros in VBA.
Skills
I have learnt actuarial techniques and developed my skills in excel/VBA.
Responsibilities
Yes, I was put on client work straight after training and given a lot of independence.
Support & Guidance
I could always ask any questions I had and at the start was trained on most of the things I would be working on.
Culture
The company culture was welcoming and friendly. I didn't feel overly intimidated and was happy to come into office every day.
