    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • As an intern I have attended some client meetings, some underwriting meetings in the Lloyds building, and have helped with creating broking notes for the brokers and do admin things and endorsements online.

  • I have learnt a lot of Insurance language and have developed my excel skills and communication skills since I have met many new people everyday. Teamwork skills too since we had a group intern project to do.

  • As much as I can be given as an intern with no professional qualifications. I have helped with what I can and gone to the meetings that have been appropriate for me to attend.

  • It was easy to communicate with my manager and I got enough guidance to start things by myself, where I could just ask questions on what I didnt know.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • I think the culture is very social and its a lively atmosphere. However, in my team at least, there was a noticeable age difference between me and everyone else since there are no grad scheme people in the team currently. This made it a little bit difficult to relate to the team members so I sometimes felt left out but it was unavoidable.

  • I think it was very fun and interesting, since I wasnt sat at a desk all day. It was very social with the other interns and it was truly fun to come into the office.
