Overview
Assisting the actuarial team with a variety of work, including: individual calculations, GMP projects, accounting work, data work etc... Alongside comprehensive training, the role involves working with a variety of clients across several sectors with unique schemes.
Skills
Developed many soft skills, in particular communication, teamwork and presentation skills that are honed through client work as well as training. Also started to learn some consulting skills, with a broad focus on pensions.
Responsibilities
Given the length of the internship (8 weeks), there is the opportunity to get involved in large amounts of client work across many teams.
Support & Guidance
There was a good structure of support - a buddy system, early careers manager as well as an internship manager. All colleagues were helpful when completing work, as well as addressing any general queries.
Culture
Within the office, the atmosphere was very welcoming and the company culture seems to instil a sense of friendliness and approachability.

The internship was very enjoyable in general - and I definitely felt more integrated as the internship went on.
