Overview
Working with client teams and the technical teams to do things such as transfer values and funding updates. A lot of the time is spent on excel updating and managing spreadsheets and then also using internally created systems. There is lots of social opportunities within the team and company which is very fun.
Skills
I have developed a technical understanding of pensions and an actuaries role and how to use various systems to carry out calculations. I have also enhanced my communication skills and developed professionally throughout this experience.
Responsibilities
We were given a lot of freedom in what we did, with work being assigned from different sources and it being up to us to manage that. Some of the work requires you to carry out certain process whereas some allows for more freedom but for all of it you are given a reasonable amount of responsibility and expected to contribute to your client teams.
Support & Guidance
I had 2 buddies and a people manager who were all very friendly and supportive. Everybody in the team provided an abundance of guidance and support.
Culture
Very friendly and relaxed.
Your Impressions
It was very enjoyable with a lot of social opportunities as well as a good variety of work.
Yes
It is a great experience and you should go for it. Focus on soft skills for application and maybe start getting comfortable using excel if you are not already.
