Overview
Dependant on team - day to day consists of agile meetings to include a daily standup, reviews, retrospectives and refinements. We pick up tickets raised by either our own team, or elsewhere in the company and complete them. This is frequently maintaining, upgrading or creating new systems.
Skills
I have learn a significant amount of industry standard skills to include: Development pipelines, a number of industry standard tools and softwares, new languages, agile working and more. There is also plenty of opportunity to develop your existing skills such as communication, leadership etc.
Responsibilities
We were given a student-led project to complete where we aim to research and implement a carbon reduction initiative. This is entirely our responsibility, and given the quality may be further used by the company. There are also plenty of opportunities to pick up responsibilities within individual teams.
Support & Guidance
Provided with both a Mentor, as well as a Manager. Both are exceptionally helpful and reliable points of contact. The majority of days within the first month are spent with the mentor, but this can be more or less dependant on how much guidance you require.
Culture
Really lovely company, very happy and laid back. Additionally felt like a very welcoming environment.
