Overview
I interned for 12 weeks within the commercial team, helping with an exciting project for a pipeline drug.
Skills
Networking, attention to detail, confidence, relationship building skills
Responsibilities
Took full ownership of a project, which is unlike any other internships where you are usually helping out/shadowing. It was great to have such responsibility
Support & Guidance
Everyone at Vertex is so happy to help and provide guidance, no one ever makes it feel like its a chore to help, its a great environment to work in. I did work independently through my project, but when I needed help, my manager was more than happy to provide guidance and point me in the right direction
Culture
It is a great company culture, have never heard or seen something quite like it before. Everyone is extremely helpful and welcoming, willing to put time in to help others. Quite a laid back and relaxing atmosphere, you are trusted to get on with your work without the need of micro-management
Your Impressions
It was a great learning experience, not only did I manage to learn about the commercial teams and department, I have also learnt a lot about the pharma industry that I wouldn't have had the opportunity to learn before.
Yes
Put yourself out there, everyone is more than happy to help :)
