Overview
On portfolio construction and risk I had to use python to build a risk platform that could be used to give portfolio managers risk weighted recommendations to risk factor allocations in their fund. In credit research I have to do a lot of reading and excel to try and predict the financial outcomes of the company I am researching.
Skills
Yes, lots of new skills. I have learnt python g and how to use excel. Got much better at PowerPoint and attention to detail. Also I learnt a lot more about the entire investment management process.
Responsibilities
Yes, lots of responsibility as my projects are going to be used to some degree at the firm.

Lots of support and guidance, everyone is very friendly and managers are approachable.

Yes
Make sure you express your passion and interest for the role in the interview process. Make sure you ask managers for help as the work is challenging and try to put your best foot forward and try to absorb as much as possible.
