    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • My role consisted of making slides for valuation decks / bake offs as well as due diligence work (i.e. research on a company or industry). I also took notes on all meetings that I sat in on and often had to circulate them to the team and I worked with personal assistants at times to schedule calls that required Managing Directors. Majority of the work was based on Powerpoint but Excel skills are definitely needed. Though you may not be modelling (team dependent), you still do use Excel for many other purposes.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • Jefferies definitely has a very flat culture. I never felt like I couldn't converse with the more senior bankers, I went out for coffee chats with many of the VPs and senior associates. Very senior Managing Directors also took the time to have a coffee with the inters which was unexpected but greatly appreciated.
