    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Job itself was repetitive, however my responsibilities grew as months went on. Felt like valued member of the team and lots of opportunities to see different sides to the business.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • As my responsibilities grew, the team let me know the value of the work that I was producing. However the start I produced work that was not needed or never looked at.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Management team and task manager were great and really open to questions if I had any.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Depended heavily on time of the year/ day of the week. Could be very busy during certain times of the year and not have anything to do for hours during others.

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Responsibility grew throughout placement. My task manager left towards the end and I took on her role which came with a lot of responsibility.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Certain things will come in handy during my my last year at University and whilst looking for a grad job, whilst others I will probably never use again.

    3/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Great atmosphere as there were lots of other placement students. Student community was one of the highlights of placement year.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Structure in place but with obvious flaws regarding re-application as a grad and manager/student set up. Could be improved but at least there is a structure..

    3/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Training is up to you, online learning is available for everyone. No other training opportunities. Development in terms of making connections, shadowing and seeing other parts of the business is up to the student.

    3/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Financial Bonus

    Company Parties/Events

    Working from home

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Many placement students get re-hired as graduates. There is an application system in place for this however system is flawed... Job opportunities available in various parts of the business.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Social scene was great, best part of placement. Many Students which created a good atmosphere. Went out a couple of times with the work team too, which was good as you get to know the people you work with better.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Was based in greater London so cost of living wasn't too bad. Students based in central London get a London allowance to cover cost of living.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • No nightlife in area I worked but surrounding areas and London had plenty of nightlife to offer.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Yes, up to the student to seek them out. Nice break from repetitive day job.

    3/5
