Overview
Rotation 1: commodities solution sales. Sent notes from morning comments around my team. Worked on client search, trade ideas, summarising research publications, analysis of solution performance. Rotation 2: capital structuring. Researching company esg reports, creating excel charts, formatting slides, working on group projects.
Skills
I have learnt a lot of technical skills which I didn’t have before, particularly on my second rotation. My public speaking skills have improved too as I have done a number of presentations throughout the summer.
Responsibilities
On my first rotation limited responsibility, mainly as we weren’t allowed to work on any live deals. On my second rotation it feels like a lot more. All the research on company reporting I’ve done has been for client presentations etc so I can see the work I have done going to use.
Support & Guidance
I had a buddy who was a grad and she was amazing she’s taken me out for coffee a few times to catch up and see how I’m getting on, and has also helped me with writing emails and giving me names of people to contact for help with more technical things.
Culture
Really good very helpful people never worried about asking questions
Your Impressions
Really enjoyed it really want to come back for the grad scheme
Yes
Just be yourself because they want people for their personality not only technical skills
