Overview
The day-to-day job depends on the desk you are assigned at. For both research and trading, it was important to keep up with news everyday and read market research papers. We had projects for the whole summer intern class, like trade idea and news presentation, and we also had projects for our own line manager on each desk. There are also lots of work shadowing sessions to learn about roles of different desks in bank.
Skills
Yes. Research skills, and data analysis skills (especially on excel).
Responsibilities
Again this depends on the desk, I had projects on trade idea and researching about markets. These are more like learning opportunities for myself and assisting managers, instead of big responsibilities, which is good for me to learn.
Support & Guidance
Both of my line managers are very nice, I feel supported throughout.
Culture
Everyone is friendly and willing to teach.
