Overview
Primarily the tasks that I was given targeted 1 of 2 objectives. Either they were to save time doing the desk’s more menial tasks or they were tasks aimed at challenging me and my knowledge base to research and further explore the desk’s work. - Created pitch decks - Created transaction summaries - Produced python code on option pricing - Presented on topics of current affairs - Presented pitches - Created written trade ideas - Produced daily market summaries

Responsibilities
Yes, as expected it was entirely desk specific. For one of my two rotations I had far more desk responsibility where I was contributing to tasks that someone on the desk would have had to have done otherwise. Whereas on my second rotation I was given no work of this sort but focused on other skills and developed in a broader (less desk specific) way, both of which have a wide variety and had their own benefits.
Support & Guidance
I had all the support I could have wanted. No complaints whatsoever in this department.
Culture
The culture of BNP Paribas was one of the standout qualities from this internship, the friendly and always available nature of all those who worked there broke the industry stereotype and made the internship a fantastic experience.
Your Impressions
I could not have asked for a more enjoyable experience.
Yes
Push yourself to explore all areas of the business and not be afraid of approaching anyone. The approachability of all those in BNPP was one of the best opportunities to learn.
