ICOO Summer Analyst Review

In my role I performed thorough research and analysis while conducting customer due diligence for commercial, corporate and investment banking clients. I also conducted 1st and 2nd level quality control checks, by meticulously verifying information, identifying discrepancies and correcting errors. An important part pf this role is maintaining contact with team members, both in office and abroad, ensuring all deadlines are met and needs are communicated. Lastly, I delivered a presentation on the Customer Identification Policy, clearly outlining critical procedures to enhance organisational compliance and operational efficiency.

I have learned to be open minded, adaptable and a quick learner. Going into this role, I knew nothing about Financial Crime, however I came into it with an open mind and learned quickly along the way. I have also further developed my research, teamwork and communication skills.

After just one week at the desk, I was completing meaningful tasks for my team members. I was given a lot of responsibility which was daunting at first but then felt rewarding. I also got to work on a presentation which I then delivered to my whole team with the aim to improve their understanding of a policy procedure. This involved a lot of responsibility and is an opportunity I am grateful for.

The development officers and HR have been extremely welcoming and kind from day one. They ensured we had all the support we needed and arranged 1-to-1 chats with all of us personally throughout the programme. This was a great opportunity to ask questions and raise any concerns. Moreover, my team made sure that I knew what I was doing and offered their help when needed.

Wells Fargo has extremely welcoming and open culture. Everyone is open for a chat and really easy to get along with, no matter how senior. As an intern you feel valued and cared for. This is my favourite thing about the company and is something that instantly stood out.

I had an amazing time at the company. I got on really well with my team and networked with many professionals from other departments. The company has an amazing culture which really stands out. This experience has significantly contributed to my professional development and I would recommend Wells Fargo to anyone out there.
