Overview
I support the finance team for one of the marketing teams - it is different day-to-day but across a month it is quite similar. There is monthly forecasting and FP&A, but also one-off requests from marketing team to see their spend figures in a certain way. There are also meetings with people in different teams to network and learn more about other roles.
Skills
Yes - I have completed a course on Excel and then also practiced using Excel practically every day, so I am much better at this now. You also mainly develop your soft skills: things like how to communicate in an office, networking, and more.
Responsibilities
Perhaps not as much as I'd have liked - I didn't have any tasks that I owned and repeated as needed, instead I would be given different tasks as and when my manager/team needed.
Support & Guidance
Lots - in the Finance internship program, you have an Assignment Leader, 2 mentors, and a navigator. Also, you can speak to anyone in your team for help when needed.
Culture
It is a really friendly, welcoming atmosphere. Everyone is always willing to help and give their time if needed. There are also lots of opportunities to socialise and get to know your colleagues better.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed my time - as a company, it is a very enjoyable place to work. The only thing I'd have changed for me personally would be to have a bit more responsibility.
Yes
This is a really good place to work, especially if you like travelling. When applying, make sure to research the company and ask insightful questions during the interview.
