Overview
Analysing and interpreting sales data to make informed decisions for the business. Cleaning data and using story-telling skills to display this data. Connecting with different networks to host events and plan the next steps for the year. Being part of the leadership committee for networks I’m passionate about Learning about power queries, pivot tables, and more in Excel. Attending meetings and shadowing managers and colleagues to learn jargon terms and more complicated corporate language!
Skills
I’ve improved my leadership skills, verbal communication, digital literacy, Excel confidence, and self-belief in such a short amount of time.
Responsibilities
Yes! Compared to internships I’ve had before I felt like I was given lots of responsibilities and this gave me more confidence in my abilities. I felt like I was part of the team as opposed to not being given any work to do and feeling less valuable than other colleagues. This has been really helpful for my personal development and learning how to ask for help if I need it and that no question is a silly question!
Support & Guidance
I received a lot of support. However, I wish I was given more feedback throughout my placement rather than at the very end when I didn’t have much time left to improve on certain areas.
Culture
Amazing! Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. A smile goes a long way if you’re having a bad day or something goes wrong.
Your Impressions
I loved it! I am heavily considering going back.
Yes
Be your most authentic self, don’t try to be someone you’re not. I’m not the most confident of people and that doesn’t matter! People often think you have to be really extroverted to do a good job but this just isn’t the case. You can find a role that suits you and you will get the best support you need if you are being true to yourself and any additional requirements you might need.
