Overview
Picking up work on my client teams, both consultant ad technical tasks. Using Hymans specific software to carry out these tasks. Responsible for contacting external people for meetings. I was delegated lots of responsibility, though all my calculations were checked and reviewed. I also picked up ad hoc technical work if I was quiet on my client teams, and we worked on an internship project throughout our time here.
Skills
I developed my organisational skills at Hymans Robertson, as I was working to lots of tight deadlines. The work was really engaging as you aren't doing jobs for the sake of keeping busy, but rather you are aware of how this actually affects the clients that you are working for. My confidence also developed here, as everyone was super welcoming to us, which made reaching out for help so much easier.
Responsibilities
We were definitely given lots of responsibility during our time at Hymans Robertson, as we were all on client teams, where there was lots of work to be done, and would often be delegated to us from some of the newer graduates. I was also included on all the client team emails and meetings, and it felt like my contributions were really valued, rather than being given menial jobs to do.
Support & Guidance
The people at Hymans ensured that we always felt confident in what we were doing, and everyone at the company was very open to helping out. My manager and buddies were very supportive, and always offered time beyond our weekly catchups to talk about any concerns I had.
Culture
Everyone was really friendly, and always willing to talk to you. Lively company with a nice young feel to it
