    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • My day to day role may not always be the same, it could involve creating trackers for studies, looking at various country guidance for submissions to health authorities. I usually would be filing documents and correspondences from health authorities and helping to prepare documents for submissions i.e. creating cover letters, filling in relevant forms. I may be reaching out to relevant individuals for collating the documents/translations of documents.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • I have developed learning to write professional emails and communicating clearly. My ability to collaborate with a variety of individuals from different functions and teams has improved my confidence and opened my horizons to the kind of work other departments do. I have been able to develop my perseverance skills by not getting overwhelmed by challenges and being able to get support from those around me. My networking skills have become stronger by working cross-functionally and with those globally.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • I was given a mixture of responsibilities by working on various tasks that were similar and different. It was good to be able to work on different tasks as it gave me a better understanding of some of the work people carry out. Some of the tasks were very tedious to do and can be time consuming but was useful and important.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • I was given a lot of guidance not only on the tasks i was doing but support on general work and how things worked and the processes. Despite how complex some processes and procedures were, people were willing to give you help if you needed it and explained things well enough to understand. For these complex processes it would have been good to have a clear and generic cheat sheet/ training that was readily available.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • The company is amazing and truly values individuals to express their culture and opinions. The atmosphere is very welcoming and friendly. They have social hours for individuals to meet other colleagues and connect, embracing everyone's culture and diversity. There are educational events for people to join and understand other beliefs/cultures which is very eye-opening. Having worked for one of RMP's Best Employers has truly been remarkable, every perk about the company is amazing and the people are too!

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I have enjoyed every part of my placement and the challenges as it was a chance to grow and adapt to developing my skills. It was incredible to be able to meet colleagues from all over the world with an array of skills and experience. I had many opportunities to learn new things and get out my comfort zone by going to events/conferences which broadened my horizons so much! It has made me a more confident and stronger person coming out of this experience. I have been able to understand how the professional world works and be surrounded by warm diverse people, who have given their advice and their endless support.
