Overview
I was shadowing my line manager on a school project. I'd be learning revit software to assist on the architectural drawings for the school such as a fire strategy plan, finishes plans, researching regulations and putting together a mood board and creating visualisations for the client.
Skills
I have learnt the revit basics and developed my knowledge of the construction industry
Responsibilities
I was given a lot of tasks for a live project so had deliverables that would affect our rapport with clients.
Support & Guidance
Fair amount although my line manager was super busy juggling multiple tasks so didnt have sufficient time to sit down with me for catch-ups / technical support.
Culture
A very friendly, diverse work environment made better by the office manager who is super helpful, welcoming and a joy to be around at work. The younger cohort of professionals also aided in me feeling welcome at work.
Your Impressions
I thoroughly enjoyed each day of working and have gained invaluable experience in the world of Architecture.
Yes
Be committed and passionate about what you are doing and treat each task as a learning experience no matter how small or insignificant you think it is.
