Overview
I was a summer intern on the PCA team. Day-to-day I would be involved with creating presentations, formatting and admin tasks. I was also able to participate in some external calls. Once a week there was an internal team meeting where we would all come together and discuss any key updates and outstanding tasks.
Skills
My main task was formatting PowerPoint slides, so this was a skill I practiced a lot. I improved both the quality and the speed with which I could work through these tasks. Also admin and task management was important to the role, something I developed further over the course of the internship.
Responsibilities
Yes, I really felt this in my direct exposure to the client and my participation in external calls.
Support & Guidance
There were several systems in place to ensure we had a network of people to support us over the internship; HR, a 'buddy', an MD advisor, other interns, bank-wide events etc.
Culture
Good, lots of different support networks that you could call on.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed working with my team, getting to know the other interns better and the exposure I got to the work involved.
Yes
Reach out to employees in advance, try to understand the company and its ethos.
