Responsibilities
I had the opportunity to lead my own social media project where I liaised with 5 other interns, providing them with a brief to create articles based on their experience at Mace.
Support & Guidance
I was supported by everyone on the team including my manager and buddy who was assigned to me at the top of my internship. I was also supported by my mentor and members of the Ethnic Diversity at Mace employee resource group outside of the team. They all made me feel welcomed which allowed me to settle in quickly.
Culture
There were many out of office events which was great for team building. There were a lot of other interns which made me settle in faster. My team made me feel very welcomed.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed my internship a lot as I always had something to do. The tasks were real and gave me the chance contribute to Mace's communications. Even though there were some admin tasks, I was still given creative tasks to test and broaden my skillset.
Yes
Have a good idea of what you want to get out of the placement prior as you will have the opportunity to set goals for yourself during your placement. Knowing what knowledge you would like to gain before the start date means that you can have a strong start and a better opportunity to getting the most out of your short time there.
